Golden Hour Engagement in Everett, Washington

When Karston reached out to me and asked if I would be his and Avery's engagement photographer, I didn't need any time to decide yes . I've had the joy of knowing Avery for just about two years and love every moment of being her friend. Documenting this sweet season in her and Karston's life was a delight.

Karston proposed at the end of a winding walking trail just outside of Everett, Washington. Golden hour light washed everything in the most delicious pink and peach hues. The Olympic Mountains were visible across the Puget Sound. And blackberries were so ripe we could smell them in air.

Days after their engagement (well, even still today), I kept telling my friends, "I don't think I've ever smiled so hard photographing two people before." Avery and Karston's love for each other is so sweet and safe. The whole evening, they were brimming with contagious joy. I'm completely thrilled to photograph their Pacific Northwest wedding next August at Pretty Bird !

Golden Hour Couple Portraits in Camano Island

Northern Washington will always be one of my favorite places to photograph. Camano Island has it all -- mountain views, pebbly beaches, and stretches of farmland. This private neighborhood airfield provided a perfect setting for Savannah and Ethan's vintage-inspired photos. To our delight, someone happened to park their beautiful antique plane on the property the March evening we were photographing.

This airfield is just down the road from English Boom Trail , one of my favorite places to photograph portraits (and cook a beach breakfast on my camping stove). Bird watching, beach walks, piles of driftwood, and a view of the Cascades make it a dreamy spot for PNW engagement photos.

Autumn Portraits with Sheet Backdrop

Autumn Portrait Inspiration in NORTHERN WASHINGTON

There's such a thrill to creating art with the bare minimum. This collection of autumn portraits, photographed between two apple trees on a Northern Washington property, was inspired by the Garden of Eden. I wanted to incorporate elements of rest, simplicity, fruit and harvest. A white sheet from my linen closet and stool from my kitchen make up the outdoor backdrop, which added a lovely editorial feel. The delicate details of Cheyenne's tattoo art paired with a dried bouquet from a local Marysville florist pulled everything together. I hope you delight in the warm color tones as much as I do!
